Opening of a New Cleanroom in Our Sligo Medical Device Manufacturing Facility

Investing to deliver for our customers today and into the future has been central to the Arrotek approach from the very beginning. Our latest investment will soon go into full operation – a new cleanroom at our medical device design and manufacturing facility in Sligo.

We moved to this new facility in 2019 to provide us with additional production capacity. It is a purpose-built facility that already includes two cleanrooms:

  • A Class 7 (10,000) cleanroom which we use for assembly and packaging activities
  • A Class 8 (100,000) cleanroom that we use for moulding operations

This new investment has added a third cleanroom. It is a Class 7 cleanroom that will be used to manufacture a range of reinforced tubing.

This cleanroom will house braider/lamination and our new Rothgreaves 4000 Series Coil Winding machine that we use to manufacture thin-walled (sub 0.1mm) reinforced tubing for catheters.

Ger O’Carroll, Director at Arrotek said: “One of our USPs here at Arrotek is our ability to respond quickly and effectively to client requirements. We had this in mind when we were planning and developing our new Sligo facility as we wanted to have the space and flexibility to move and adapt quickly as required.

“The opening of our third cleanroom is an example of our approach.

“Medical device innovation and technology are advancing rapidly. At Arrotek, we are committed to staying at the cutting edge of these advances to ensure we can continue delivering for our clients.”
