Balloon Blowing

Tipping & Welding

With 15 years knowledge designing induction heating processes for the medical device industry Arrotek medical are second to none in the design and optimisation of the most efficient and repeatable tipping processes. With our knowledge of materials and our understanding of their impact on tooling requirements we can guarantee the shortest possible cycle times.

Inject moulding & Insert moulding

Arrotek medical have a modern and efficient moulding facility. In-house we carry out both insert and inject moulding. Arrotek medical have a unique tooling design delivering an unequalled turnaround time to meet our customer moulding requirements. Our commitment to quality will ensure accurate parts every time.

Bonding of medical devices

With our experience we can select the correct bonding method, pre treatment and adhesive to suit your medical device material. Bonding methods we use in house for medical devices include:

  • Cyanoacrylate bonding
  • Ultra Violet bonding
  • Solvent bonding
  • Friction bonding

We understand the difficulties and solutions for bonding medical device materials such as PTFE, Polyethylene, PEEK and FEP.

Printing

Using a closed cup pad printing system we offer consistent print detail. Working with most medical device materials we can offer print solutions that work. We will assist you in the selection of a suitable medical grade ink for your medical device.

We have developed a biocompatible surface treatment process in house allowing us to print on many medical device materials other companies consider impossible. This combined with our research into surface energies and Dyne levels in materials, allows us to offer you a printing solution which meets your requirements.

Tube forming

In the past we have found oven forming to be an inefficient method to shape medical devices. With our knowledge of induction heating we have developed an RF heating method to efficiently form complex tube shapes using an automated process. This allows us to form medical device shapes with repeatability to tight tolerance requirements.

Packing & Sterilisation

Arrotek Medical has thermoformed tray sealing and pouch sealing capabilities using Tyvek and medical paper in our validated Class 10000 clean-room. We have our own validated ethylene oxide and gamma sterilization cycle which we utilize for early stage development projects and evaluation of prototypes.
